Re-examine an unresolved matter
Cold case work starts with a careful review of what is already known and what questions remain. Global Intelligence Bureau can help counsel or authorized clients develop additional leads without assuming that an old case can be solved.
Assignment scope
- Review of available records, timelines and prior leads
- Witness location and follow-up interviews
- Scene review and identification of potential evidence sources
Findings and practical limits
We document the source of each lead, how it was assessed and what remains uncertain. Access to old material and changes in witness recall or scene conditions can affect the inquiry. Further work is guided by the available evidence.
Organize existing work before revisiting leads
Provide the available chronology, prior reports, known witnesses and the questions that remain open. Identifying which leads were checked, when they were checked and what was obtained helps focus renewed work. Older documents may also reveal missing context, inconsistent identifying details or follow-up questions that were not resolved.
Account for the passage of time
Witness memory, record retention and changes to a scene can limit a renewed inquiry. A new lead should be assessed against the existing evidence rather than assumed to solve the case. Reports can distinguish established history, newly obtained information and unresolved issues, helping the client evaluate whether additional investigative steps are practical.
