Objective information for custody matters
Custody disputes require careful handling of sensitive family information. Global Intelligence Bureau helps clients and their attorneys document relevant facts within an agreed investigative scope. We focus on observable conduct and reliable sources.
Assignment scope
- Relevant surveillance and activity documentation
- Witness interviews and location inquiries
- Research supporting specific questions raised by counsel
Findings and practical limits
Reports attribute statements to their sources and describe what the investigator observed. Photos or video are included when obtained. Findings can inform counsel’s assessment; an investigation does not determine custody or guarantee a court outcome.
Focus on specific conduct and circumstances
A useful assignment starts with a factual question, such as an identified location, recurring activity or a stated concern during a particular period. Provide relevant schedules, known addresses, available court documents and counsel’s instructions. Specific objectives make it easier to plan appropriate observation and avoid collecting information unrelated to the matter.
Keep observations separate from conclusions
Documentation should identify dates, locations, observed conduct and the limits of the investigator’s view. A brief observation may not establish a recurring pattern or explain why an event occurred. Reports provide factual material for counsel to evaluate; the investigator does not decide custody, assess parenting fitness or make a clinical diagnosis.
